Safeguarding is of paramount importance within the Oratory. We promote and ensure the safety of all children and adults at risk within our care, and foster a culture of safeguarding so as to prevent abuse occurring in the first instance, and to provide support to any individuals who may have been hurt by abuse. Together with the Diocese of Salford we commit to taking all necessary steps towards reducing the likelihood of further harm. The Oratory collaborates fully with the Safeguarding Team of Salford Diocese. We share the same aims and vision, follow common policies, and benefit from their support. More information about their work is available here on their website:

Safeguarding staff liaise closely with statutory agencies to ensure that any allegations of abuse are investigated promptly and thoroughly. Survivors are supported and, where appropriate, perpetrators are held to account.
